Unifeeder, a Danish shipping company and the largest operator in the market of container feeder lines, started their container service between Szczecin and Bremerhaven. A container carrier calls at the port of Szczecin once a week.

The World Sea Day

On 23rd September Poland celebrated the World Sea Day, an annual event for all states members of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). It is a day of seafarers and other people in maritime sectors celebrated to highlight the role of the maritime industry in the development of international trade.

Cooperating Agreement For Building The LNG Terminal

On 20th August 2009, in the headquarters of Polskie LNG in Szczecin, a cooperation agreement was signed between Polskie LNG Sp. z o.o., Gaz-System S.A., an Operator of Industrial Gas Pipelines, Maritime Office of Szczecin and the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority.  

The week of cruisers

On 17th August two river cruisers called at the city, namely m/v Katharina von Bora and m/v Johannes Brahms, both under the German flag. On board of those ships nearly 200 people come to the city.

Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the Szczecin seaport

On 30th July 2009, Bogdan Zdrojewski, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, visited Szczecin. During his meeting in the Szczecin Seaport, in the Old Workshop at the Łasztownia Island, the minister presented a project of the ‘Culture Map’. The meeting attracted representatives of culture, artists, journalists and inhabitants of the city. Together with the minister the meeting was attended by representatives of the region and the City with the City President Piotr Krzystek, as well as the Chairman of Board at the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority.

Increasingly often it turns out that it is worth investing during a downswing in the economy to benefit from reduced cost and consequently generate larger return from investment afterwards when the market situation improves.

On 30th June 2009, in St Petersburg, a meeting of the Polish-Russian Committee on Transport-Transit Policy was held. The Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority was represented by Wladysław Lisewski, member of board, Bartlomiej Pachis, director, and Andrzej Baron.

New investment in the Szczecin Seaport

On 22nd June 2009, the construction of a large silo for grinded soy and rapeseed and grain was officially commenced at the Słowackie Quay in the Szczecin Seaport. The event attracted representatives of the City, Region, Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority and journalists.
