The World Sea Day

On 23rd September Poland celebrated the World Sea Day, an annual event for all states members of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). It is a day of seafarers and other people in maritime sectors celebrated to highlight the role of the maritime industry in the development of international trade.

Traditionally, the event involves discussion on safety at sea and environmental issues.
Each year, the holiday has different motto and a message by the IMO Secretary General.
The Szczecin and Swinoujście Seaports Authority celebrated the event by organising together with KIGM a special meeting for representatives of maritime companies based in the region.
