On 3rd June this year, Polish ports of western and eastern coast presented business opportunities in the Polish Embassy in London. In the event participating were also representatives of governments from Zachodniopomorskie and Pomorskie Regions.
The Polish ambassador Ms Barbara Tuge-Erecinska, the host of the meeting, in her short speech, said that despite the global economic crisis, Poland is doing better than the majority of European economies. And this should be one of factors attracting investors to Poland.
Ms Anna Wypych-Namiotko, the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure, focused on broad opportunities for cooperation between British and Polish businessmen in the maritime sector.
Jaroslaw Siergiej, CEO, and Krzysztof Pilarski, Marketing Director, presented the potential of Szczecin and Swinoujscie seaports. Their presentation focused on favourable location of the ports in the Baltic Sea Region and access to European inland waterways, road and railway networks. The presentation also covered links between the two ports and British ports and prospects for developing further cooperation.
After the official part of the meeting, representatives of British businesses asked about possibilities of developing business contacts with ports of Szczecin, Swinoujscie and Police.
