m/v Alexander von Humboldt opened the season of sea-going cruise ships in Szczecin Print
 On 11th May 2010, m /v Alexander von Humboldt started the season of sea-going cruise ships in Szczecin. The ship, registered in the Bahamas by a British owner, is now chartered by Phoenix Reisen, a renowned German operator.

    The captain of the ship received a visit of a delegation consisting of Jarosław Siergiej, Chairman of the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority, Janusz Markiewicz, director of the Marine Inspection at the Maritime Office Szczecin, Elżbieta Peta, Chairperson of Polsteam Shipping Agency, and Grzegorz Włoch, who for many years on behalf of Polsteam had been taking care of cruise ships visiting Szczecin. Members of the delegation together with the captain welcomed passengers and the crew to Szczecin.
During 14 days of the visit, passengers plan to visit Hamburg, Gdańsk, Stockholm, St. Petersburg and Tallinn, while during the several hours stop at the Wały Chrobrego Berth in Szczecin passengers could visit the city on guided tours or individually.
This season, on 14th August, m/v Alexander von Humboldt is going to visit Szczecin again.
Already on 30th May, another cruise ship m/v Athena is expected to call at Szczecin and stop at the Polskie Berth in the port.
