On 21st May 2010, representatives of the Port of Ystad visited the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority.

The discussion focused on including the Świnoujście-Ystad motorway of the sea into the EU policy documents. The status of the motorway of the sea should help attracting additional funding for developing of the transport route.
- For us the development of the route linking the north and the south of Europe is a priority for us. For this reason, we plan to try and establish the Świnoujście –Ystad motorway of the sea. For the same reason, we want to include the Central European Transport Corridor into EU transport policy documents, said Jarosław Siergiej, CEO of the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority. 
Representatives of the Port of Ystad were interested in cooperation opportunities between the ports, in particular the ferry traffic.
- Cooperation between the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority and ports in South Sweden has continued for many years. Further cooperation between the partners remains within interests of both countries, said Bjorn Bostrom, CEO of the Port of Ystad.
