September turned out to be the best month regarding cargo handling in the ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście. In September this year, berths administered by the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority handled 2,153.9 thousand tonnes of cargo, a 42.3% increase in relation to September 2009 (1,513.7 thousand tonnes).

Cargo handling in particular months of 2010:

In 9 months of 2010 the port handled 15,496.6 thousand tonnes of cargo which translates to an increase of 32.6% if compared with a corresponding period of last year (11,690.8 thousand tonnes).

The largest increase was recorded in the following groups of cargo (September 2009 to September 2010):

Already at the beginning of October this year, ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście exceeded the cargo handling level reached in the whole 2009. During 12 months of 2009 cargo handling was 16,497.7 thousand tonnes. According to preliminary estimates, this year cargo handling of the two ports should reach 19 million tonnes.
