Ports Authority

The Company

Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority SA is a qualified subject of the Law concerning ports and sea harbours from 20 December 1996 for management of ports of fundamental meaning in the national economy: in Szczecin and Swinoujscie.

The enterprise is a public utility, and its range of economic activity was specified in Law and encompasses:

management of property and port infrastructure,
forecasting, programming and planning of the development of ports,
construction, extension, maintenance and modernization of the port infrastructure,
obtaining real estate for needs of port development,
services connected with use of the port infrastructure,
assurance of access to port facilities receiving waste from ships for the purpose of delivery to salvage or disposal.

Sources of revenue of the managing subject are:

Charges for use, hires, lease or other contract, on the strength of which the managing subject gives back into payable use grounds and facilities, equipment and port installations
Port duties
Revenue from services of benefit to the managing subject
Other revenues

Earnings from the activities of Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority SA are intended for construction, extension, maintenance and modernization of the port infrastructure, completion of other jobs resulting from the subject’s activity and covering the ongoing costs of living.

The range of activities of the Joint Stock Company encompasses the management of the port, not entering into the sphere of developmental activity on port grounds hosted as well as facilities of infrastructure found there.

Developmental functions connected with the exercise of port services were completely assumed by companies of port development.
