Under the Helsinki Convention and guidelines from the Helsinki Commission and the MARPOL International Convention the Authority of Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports is engaged in implementing the environmental policy by in the field of protecting the Baltic Sea Region against pollution from ships and land sources.

Moreover, the operation of the Ports Authority is conducted according to and on the basis of regulations on environment protection of the domestic and EU laws as well as on the basis of permissions concerning environment protection.
