As many as seven companies want to promote port investments in the Kashubian Basin of the port of Szczecin
As many as seven companies offered their services in response to an inquiry from the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority for the implementation of promotional and information tasks for the project entitled "Improving access to the port of Szczecin in the area of the Kashubian Basin". This investment is, next to the "Improvement of access to the port of Szczecin in the area of the Dębicki Canal", the second flagship investment project of ZMPSiŚ SA in the port of Szczecin. The bidders estimated the cost of promoting the investment from PLN 45 thousand. up to 135,000 zlotys.
The construction works will be carried out by Gdańsk-based Korporacja Budowlana Doraco sp.z o.o. The investment cost is nearly PLN 223 million. Its completion is scheduled for July 31, 2023.
The investment will introduce a new quality to the Kashubian Basin. Existing quays, incl. Katowice and Chorzowskie will be modernized and strengthened so that they can accept more goods. A new Dąbrowieckie wharf will be built. The local system of access roads to the quays will be changed and modernized. The port waters will be 12.5 meters deep, which is the same as the Świnoujście-Szczecin fairway.
As a result of both projects, "Improving access to the port of Szczecin in the area of the Kashubian Basin". and "Improving access to the port in Szczecin in the area of the Dębicki Canal", the infrastructure of the Szczecin port will be adapted to the current trends in the maritime transport market. Bulk carriers with a carrying capacity of 40 thousand. DWT will be able to call at the port of Szczecin fully loaded, thus doubling the amount of goods handled so far.
The investment "Improving access to the port of Szczecin in the Kashubian Basin" is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Infrastructure and Environment operational program.
The Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority is the undisputed investment leader in the region. From the moment we are in the EU, thanks to EU support until the end of 2023, the amount of investments made by the Company in the Szczecin-Świnoujście port complex will exceed two billion zlotys.
