In Świnoujście, the construction of a new parking lot for trucks at the ferry terminal has just reached its halfway point

At the ferry terminal in Świnoujście, the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority is building a new car park with nearly three hundred parking spaces for trucks. Construction work has just passed the halfway point. Their contractor is PRO-TRA BUILDING Sp. z o.o. from Wroclaw.

A new car park is being built at ul. Fińska in the immediate vicinity of the Ferry Terminal in Świnoujście. It will offer 278 places for trucks with technical infrastructure, sanitary facilities and waste recycling.

The concrete foundation of the base is being built on the square, the paving stones have just started to be laid. Previously, work related to the stabilization of the substrate was carried out. Earthworks have also begun in the direction of land development.

The aim of the investment is to improve the access infrastructure to the port, care for the natural environment and improve the maritime connection between Świnoujście and two ports in Sweden - Trelleborg and Ystad. Its positive effects will certainly be felt by the residents of Świnoujście, because when truck traffic becomes heavy, they will no longer park on the sides of the streets leading to the terminal. In addition, sanitary facilities available in the car park will improve the comfort of drivers waiting for the ferry.

The full name of the project is "Development of the land reserve in the southern part of the Ferry Terminal in Świnoujście - parking spaces", implemented in connection with the concluded Agreement No. INEA / CEF / TRAN / M2018 / 1787737 for granting subsidies under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) - Transport Sector, under the name of the action: "Elimination of last mile bottlenecks - construction of a reserve parking lot for trucks at the Ferry Terminal in Świnoujście", action number 2018-PL-TM-0028-W.

According to the plan, the new car park is to be ready this year. Its cost is almost PLN 31 million gross. (Monika Woźniak-Lewandowska, May 10, 2021)
