Ports of Szczecin and Swinoujscie are prepared to accept dangerous goods. They have magazines for handling dangerous goods and the place for storage of containers with dangerous goods.

The safety and security system of facilities administered by the Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority SA is subject to internal and external regulations, where were implemented internal procedures for dealing with emergency situations and hazards notification system, in relation to the strategy of ensuring safety and security. By integrating these systems in the ports of Szczecin and Swinoujscie, it is possible to manage transportation of hazardous materials and designed for military or police use on designated port facilities. The transport is based on:

• Plans to ensure the safety of high-risk goods on railway sidings and Goods of high-risk on the road for wheeled objects: Szczecin General Cargo, Szczecin Bulk Cargo, Commercial Port Swinoujscie and Ferry Terminal in Swinoujscie;
• Instructions for safe handling of hazardous materials of operators providing services for handling hazardous materials;
• Good practice and experience of handling operators with the NATO Commercial and Government Entity, who provide services for the army.

The internal system of response to the threat is carried out on many levels. People responsible for its use are designated officers in the structures of forwarding companies, port operators involved in work for the handling of hazardous materials and Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority.
