Port roadshow in London

On 3rd June this year, Polish ports of western and eastern coast presented business opportunities in the Polish Embassy in London. In the event participating were also representatives of governments from Zachodniopomorskie and Pomorskie Regions.

The first sea-going cruiser this season

On 10th June, the first of three cruisers this season will call at Szczecin. This time it is the British m/v Black Watch under the flag of the Bahamas owned by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines. Between 7:00 and 18:00hrs that day the ship will be mooring at the Polskie Berth. The ship can be seen from the Waly Chrobrego embankment overlooking the river.

Transport Logistic 2009 in Munich

On 12-15 May, Transport Logistic 2009, in many years the main European fair in the TSL sector was held in Munich. Munich is the venue for meeting everyone who plays an important role in the world transport.

World economy and port market

The status of the world economy and shipping and port markets On 14th May, the 7th Sea Shipping Conference was held in the Radisson SAS hotel in Szczecin. This year the conference focused on the "Situation in the world economy and shipping and port markets". Guests invited included representatives of ports, operators, shipping companies and scientists.

12.5 m for Szczecin. A Port Open to Larger Vessels

On 27th April 2009, a conference on ’12.5 m for Szczecin. A Port Open to Larger Vessels’ was held in the Radisson Hotel, Szczecin. It was organised by the Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority, Port of Police Authority, Maritime University of Szczecin and Maritime Office of Szczecin.

The tourist season has started

The Port of Szczecin has just started the tourist season for cruisers. On 31st March, m/s Johannes Brahms, the first river cruiser this year, is expected to call at the port. It will berth at Wały Chrobrego until 1 April. The cruiser, registered under the Swiss flag, was built in 1988. It has 82 m in length and 9.5 m in width, and travels with the speed of 18 km/h. It provides 40 cabins for 80 passengers.


On 4th March 2009, the Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority held a press conference focusing on 2008 financial figures of the company and its investment policy.

11% containers more

62,913 TEU containers have been handled in ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście in 2008, of which 33,887 TEU in export and 29,026 TEU in import.
