ZMPSiŚ investment in the port of Szczecin in the area of the Dębicki Canal - contract with the contractor NDI signed
The Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority and the consortium of NDI Sp. z o.o. and NDI SOPOT S.A. signed a contract for the implementation of the investment entitled "Improving access to the port of Szczecin in the area of the Dębicki Canal."
The document was signed by: on the part of ZMPSiŚ SA, Krzysztof Urbaś, president of the management board and Jacek Cichocki, vice president for development, and with NDI, president Małgorzata Winiarek-Gajewska.
This investment is one of the flagship projects implemented by the ZMPSiŚ in the port of Szczecin. Its goal is to obtain an increased qualitatively and quantitatively potential for groupage reloading through the construction of a new Norwegian Quay (constituting an extension of the line of the already existing Finnish Quay, which serves as a container terminal) and the modernization of the existing Czech and Slovak Quays along with the modernization of the technical infrastructure at the quays' immediate hinterland and adaptation them to a technical depth of 12.5 m.
Moreover, as securing the shore of Ostrów Grabowski and extending a further line of the Norweskie Quay in the future, it is planned to build a cap quay on a length of approx. 600 m (the name in the future - Danish Quay).
Currently, the Czech and Slovak quays are the most intensively used groupage quays in the port of Szczecin, and the scope of the investment will ensure that their parameters will be adjusted to service the largest ships that will be able to call at the port in Szczecin, after the Świnoujście-Szczecin fairway is modernized to a depth of 12.5 m.
