The exhibition "Monuments of the Świnoujście-Szczecin fairway"

The exhibition "Monuments of the Świnoujście-Szczecin fairway" has appeared in Szczecin. It was officially opened by the secretary of state in the Ministry of Infrastructure, the government plenipotentiary for water management and investments in maritime and water management - Marek Gróbarczyk.

Apart from 25 boards documenting the most interesting finds recovered from the modernized Świnoujście-Szczecin fairway, e.g. a medieval sword, the exhibition also includes valuable exhibits. Among them, the stellar aircraft engine of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber from the Second World War. The premiere display of the exhibition took place in Wolin and Warsaw at the premises of the former Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, and now part of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The exhibition is located in the courtyard of the National Museum in Szczecin - Museum of Regional Traditions at ul. Staromłyńska 27. Free admission. Opening hours: Thursday-Sunday, hours. 12: 00-18: 00. The exhibition will be in Szczecin until the end of this year. Then the inhabitants of Wrocław, Kołobrzeg and Elbląg will see it.

However, this is not the end of the attractions! In addition, on November 18-21, from 17: 00-18: 00 the exhibition is accompanied by a special audiovisual presentation showing the beauty of the Odra River. It was prepared by the Office for the Odra Water Road of ZMPSiŚ SA. Recipients will set off on the "Odra Sound Trail".

The Odra Sound Trail is a special album. Its author, using professional microphones and hydrophones, created a sound map of the Odra River. On the album we hear the sound of man and river, sounds of nature and industrial sounds. This shows that the Odra River is a common space for people and nature. We want to take advantage of its benefits. We strive for the development of shipping, but we also want to take care of the natural environment and preserve the cultural heritage. We want the Odra to always sound with a harmony of sounds. You will see for yourself how they can be beautiful and surprising at the same time. The CD is free for every visitor.

About the author: Michał Zygmunt - guitarist and composer, author of professional field recordings of nature sounds (albums Dzikie Rzeki, Harmonia Natury for WWF Poland). The originator of the Odra Guitars series - instruments made only of trees growing by the Oder. He creates theater, film and illustrative music as well as radio plays. He is a laureate of the Emocje 2015 award of Radio Wrocław Kultura in the music category, appreciated for musical individuality and discovering other dimensions of music. Video link:
