The Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority, under the provisions of the Maritime Security Act of September 4th, 2008, acts as the managing entity of the ports in Szczecin and Swinoujscie, performing the tasks specified in Article 4 point 10 of this Act. It also manages port facilities designated in the area of business of the Authority, carrying out tasks under the provisions of Art. 4 point 11. Provisions on the protection of port facilities and vessels in port, as well as the scope of competences of services and entities performing tasks in this respect are contained in the Maritime Security Act of 4 September 2008, executive regulations issued on its basis and regulations issued by the Director of Maritime Office in Szczecin and international law. The units that carry out tasks resulting from the policies of the Authority for the safety and security of port facilities, include: Department for the security of port facilities and property and Port Rescue Service.
